Rebekah Vardy's Documentary Outperforms Coleen Rooney's Series in Viewership
New figures show Vardy's show captured a larger audience than Rooney's reality series.

Rebekah Vardy's three-part documentary series, 'At Home With The Vardys', has surpassed Coleen Rooney's reality show 'The Real Rooneys' in viewership figures. According to new data from BARB, which measures at-home TV viewing, Vardy's series garnered 833,000 household viewers in its first seven days. In comparison, 'The Real Rooneys', which premiered on Disney+ last month, attracted 230,000 viewers in the same period. Additionally, a Prime Video show featuring Michael Owen and his wife Louise, 'Meet The Owens', recorded 245,000 streams.
The Vardy's series, which documents their family's relocation to Italy after Jamie Vardy signed with Serie A side Cremonese, had initially drawn 670,000 viewers on its debut night in June. The show received mixed reviews, with some critics awarding it a maximum of two stars and viewers describing it as 'uninteresting and boring'.
'The Real Rooneys', following Coleen and Wayne Rooney and their four sons, has also faced criticism. The Daily Mail's reviewer awarded the show one star, describing it as 'vacuous, self-obsessed, intellectually numb, absurdly insulated from reality and just spectacularly tacky.' The review noted the show's failure to address Wayne Rooney's past controversies.
Rebekah Vardy has previously spoken about the pressures of being married to a footballer, citing instability and the impact of frequent relocations on the family. She also addressed stereotypes associated with 'WAGs' (wives and girlfriends of footballers), stating that the public often assumes they are shallow or unintelligent, and that privilege does not negate the right to be hurt by criticism.
