Raye Announces Global Tour of "This Symphony May Contain Hope"
Grammy-winning artist to bring orchestral show to international stages following overwhelming demand for London performance.
Raye has announced that her orchestral show, "This Symphony May Contain Hope," will embark on a global tour. The announcement follows an overwhelming response to her upcoming London performance at the Royal Albert Hall, where 1.8 million applications were received for just 5,000 available seats.
International Dates and Special Release
The tour is scheduled to include performances across the United Kingdom, China, Switzerland, Italy, the USA, Australia, and Ghana. In conjunction with the tour announcement, Raye has also released a special orchestral rendition of her song "Click Clack Symphony," featuring Hans Zimmer. This version is now available on streaming platforms and as a 12-inch vinyl.
Tackling Ticket Scalping
The immense demand for the Royal Albert Hall show, slated for October 23, led Raye to implement measures against ticket touts. She reported that the sign-up process was inundated with fraudulent registrations, many of which were generated by AI bots. To ensure fans could purchase tickets at face value, Raye and her team manually reviewed the application list to identify genuine fans for a presale. "We received 1.8 million sign-ups for 5000 seats," Raye stated on X, noting the unprecedented scale of bot activity. "It is so important to me that fans can buy tickets at the face value price."
The "This Symphony May Contain Hope" Concept
The orchestral show reimagines Raye's sophomore album, "This Music May Contain Hope," with the Heritage Orchestra and Flames Collective. The project represents a significant ambition for the artist, following the success of her 2023 album "My 21st Century Blues."
Personal Reflections and Career Trajectory
Raye, whose real name is Rachel Keen, has previously spoken about the intense pressure she placed on herself during her recent work, describing it as a period where "work has really been my life." She expressed a desire for more balance, focusing on both performances and rest time. The artist also reflected on a difficult period in 2019, which she described as "a pretty dark year" marked by personal traumas and substance abuse, prior to her eventual recovery supported by family.
Raye was signed by Polydor in 2014 and gained early recognition for her feature on Jax Jones' "You Don't Know Me." After years of reportedly having her debut album withheld by her record label, she took a hiatus before releasing "My 21st Century Blues" in 2023. More recently, she has been reunited with her parents, who now manage aspects of her career, and frequently performs with her sisters.
