A new film titled "The Janitor" is set to depict Prince Andrew in scenes related to his alleged involvement in scandals and cover-ups, according to reports.
The film stars Harry Kirton, known for "Peaky Blinders," as a publicist who manages the scandals of the elite. One scene, described as "The Table of Filth," will reportedly recreate episodes from the former prince's downfall. Producers have not yet announced who will play Prince Andrew, who has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the former Duke of York, was stripped of his royal titles last year following his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He was arrested on February 19, his 66th birthday, and remains under investigation.
Lawyers representing the former prince have been given an opportunity to provide his perspective before the script is completed. However, Prince Andrew has declined to engage with the production, which could be released before Christmas. Buckingham Palace was also approached twice and did not respond.
One scene is said to feature a reporter handing the former prince a photograph of himself with Virginia Giuffre. Giuffre had claimed she was forced to have sex with him when she was 17, an allegation he has always denied and stated he never met her. Giuffre died by suicide last year at the age of 41.
The film's final scene reportedly shows staff looking at a photograph of him kneeling over a woman, an image that appeared in the Epstein files released in January.
A production source stated that the film's legal team has "bulletproofed every single frame" and is prepared for potential backlash. The insider suggested the film aims to bring "some of the most toxic cover-ups in modern British history" into the public light.
Executive producer Dr. Shamsa Akhtar indicated that a U.S. television adaptation may also be in development. It was previously reported that disgraced newsreader Huw Edwards was asked to play himself in the production, an offer he rejected.
