Pottery Throw Down Judge Keith Brymer Jones to Marry Partner in Welsh Chapel Home
The couple, who are renovating a historic chapel in Pwllheli, plan to wed in May 2027.
Great Pottery Throw Down judge Keith Brymer Jones and his partner, actor Marj Hogarth, are set to marry in their home, a renovated chapel in Pwllheli, north Wales. Jones proposed to Hogarth "on Welsh soil" during a performance at the New Theatre in Cardiff.
The couple purchased the 163-year-old Capel Salem on the Llŷn Peninsula in 2022 and have since been transforming the Grade II-listed building into their home, a pottery studio, and a community space. They plan to hold their wedding ceremony in the chapel's main hall in May 2027.
Jones stated that he felt the move to Wales was a return to his "roots," as his parents hailed from Swansea and Cardiff. He also shared that his mother had a passion for pottery, which inspired his own career. He recalled childhood drives through Welsh country lanes in pursuit of pottery.
Capel Salem, an 8,500-square-foot property, overlooks Pwllheli and the Eryri and Yr Wyddfa mountain ranges. The couple have resided there for approximately eighteen months and have expressed their deep affection for the location and the supportive community in Pwllheli. Jones discovered the chapel while searching online, and he and Hogarth visited and "fell in love with the place" the following day. He described the chapel as their "forever home" in a "magical place."
