Phoebe Bridgers Gets "Bobby" Tattoo in Tribute to Boyfriend Bo Burnham
The singer also added a spiderweb design to her collection of ink.
Phoebe Bridgers has added new ink to her collection, honoring boyfriend Bo Burnham with a tattoo of the name "Bobby" just below her collarbone. The tattoo was shared by Los Angeles-based artist Matt Vazquez via Instagram.
The name "Bobby" is also featured in Bridgers' new song of the same name on her album “Lost Weekend,” which was released on August 14. The track details her romance with the comedian, with lyrics such as "Now I sleep in your shirts and you live in my house" and "This could be the end of wanting." Burnham, who co-wrote seven songs on the album and provided vocals for "Bobby," has been romantically linked to Bridgers since late 2022.
In addition to the tribute to Burnham, Vazquez also gave Bridgers a spiderweb tattoo on her left elbow. This is located near a heart tattoo bearing the name "Max," in honor of her late dog.
Bridgers' existing tattoos include barbed wire on her bicep, a lit match on her forearm, and the phrase "drink water" on her left wrist. She also has matching tattoos with her Boygenius bandmates, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker, including a tooth on her wrist and a Three of Cups tarot card, symbolizing friendship.
Previously, Bridgers expressed her philosophy on tattoos in a 2021 appearance on Kesha's podcast. "I gotta be honest, I think if you only have incredible tattoos, you’re a cop," she said, adding that she believes "bad tattoos are a part of life." She also mentioned being on the hunt for a lower back tattoo.
Bridgers is scheduled to begin her album tour, The Lost Tour, on Thursday at Brooklyn's Barclays Center. The following day, her first feature film, A24's “Primetime,” starring Robert Pattinson, is set to be released in theaters.
