Penelope Cruz graced the red carpet at the British Film Institute (BFI) London Film Festival on Saturday night for the premiere of "Bunker." The actress, 52, chose an elegant yellow floral dress for the occasion.

"Bunker," a psychological thriller directed by Florian Zeller, stars Cruz and her husband, Javier Bardem, as a married couple whose relationship is tested. Bardem plays architect Miguel, whose marriage to Sofia (Cruz) faces strain when he accepts a morally ambiguous project to build a survivalist bunker for a tech billionaire. Sofia, meanwhile, begins working with an American novelist.

The film has already garnered significant praise, with a previous screening at the Venice Film Festival resulting in a 15-and-a-half-minute standing ovation, the longest of that festival's events. Cruz was visibly moved by the enthusiastic response, becoming tearful as Bardem offered comfort. Director Florian Zeller marked the moment by pulling the couple forward to acknowledge the applause.

This collaboration marks the ninth time Cruz and Bardem have worked together on screen. The couple, married for 16 years and parents to two children, first met in 1992 on the set of the Spanish film "Jamon Jamon." They reconnected years later on the set of the 2008 film "Vicky Cristina Barcelona," for which Cruz won an Oscar.

Bunker marks the ninth time Penelope and Javier have collaborated on screen and is already receiving rave reviews, including a four star write up from the Daily Mail's Brian Viner

Bardem has previously spoken about the couple's commitment to family, stating that since the birth of their first child, at least one of them has been present at home. He described Cruz as an "amazing, beautiful, good human being."

The BFI London Film Festival, organized by the BFI, runs from October 18 and features 251 film titles from 88 countries, including world premieres and exclusive screen talks.
