Supermodel Paulina Porizkova, 61, has responded to critics after revealing a 20-pound weight gain over the past five years. Porizkova, a proponent of natural aging, shared her perspective on Instagram, posting a video montage that juxtaposed recent images of herself with photographs from decades prior.

In her post, Porizkova stated that while her previous announcement about gaining weight was met with support, she also received messages suggesting she could lose the weight through specific diets and exercise regimens. Some individuals even offered programs for a fee. Porizkova acknowledged that losing weight is possible through increased exercise and reduced caloric intake, or more drastic measures like liposuction, but emphasized her priorities.

"My point was and IS: to resist [ageing] takes an awful lot of time and money," she wrote. "And at this point in my life I’m more comfortable in this body than I’ve ever been. [I'm] more grateful for it. And I have a ton of other things I want to do with my time and money."

Porizkova shared a video showing her in a red bra and underwear, along with older photos. She explained that her current weight of 148 pounds means she no longer fits into a pair of jeans she wore five years ago when she weighed 128 pounds. That lower weight was achieved after filming the intense reality series "Beyond the Edge" in Panama, where contestants faced significant physical activity and limited food.

At her lowest weight, Porizkova experienced considerable hip pain, requiring painkillers to navigate her apartment. The same jeans that were loose five years ago are now too tight to fasten, a change she attributes to her body evolving, particularly after undergoing bilateral hip replacement surgery two years ago. "My arms and boobs got fuller, as did my lower belly, and my thighs," she noted.

Despite these physical changes, Porizkova expressed contentment. She is actively preparing for her upcoming wedding to writer Jeff Greenstein and has been exercising multiple times a week, reporting that she has never felt stronger, even though her weight remains consistent. She shared this in preparation for moving and sorting through her belongings, adding, "Sorting out my clothes for the move, and working on acceptance. I have to remind myself that acceptance is not defeat! Merely a different door."
