Paris Hilton Responds to Backlash Over Family's Halloween Costumes

Paris Hilton has addressed criticism labeling her a "narcissist" following the online backlash to her family's Beauty and the Beast-themed Halloween costumes. The star faced accusations of "stealing the spotlight" from her children by dressing as the main character, Princess Belle, while her husband, Carter Reum, was The Beast. Their son, Phoenix, dressed as Lumiere, and their daughter, London, was Chip.

Some social media users expressed outrage, with comments including "Stealing spotlight from kids is next level narcissistic" and "When do your kids get to be the main character?" Others suggested that Hilton should let her children "have a childhood" and be the stars of the holiday.

Responding to the criticism in the comments section of her Instagram, Hilton stated that the costume choices were based on her children's preferences. "Beauty and the Beast is one of their favorite movies," she wrote. "London said she wanted to dress up as Chip. She said it was her favorite character in the movie."

Supporters of Hilton defended her choices, calling the costumes "iconic" and "adorable." One user commented, "Well YAS. SHE IS MAIN CHARACTER." Another sarcastically remarked, "This just in: Women who have children are no longer allowed to be princesses. Their life is over. It's only mother now."

Another perspective offered was that the children are too young to remember their costumes, suggesting Hilton should "enjoy her MILF era to the fullest while she can."
