Paige Thorne Welcomes First Child with Partner Drew Wedlake
Love Island star Paige Thorne and boxer Drew Wedlake have announced the arrival of their baby boy, whom they have named Fateley.
Paige Thorne, known for her appearance on Love Island, has given birth to her first child, a son, with her partner, boxer Drew Wedlake. Thorne announced the birth on her Instagram page on Wednesday, revealing their baby's name as Fateley Hayes Wedlake.
Thorne shared photos of the newborn on social media, with the caption expressing deep affection: "Fateley Hayes Wedlake, we never knew a love like this existed." The couple, who became Instagram official in July of the previous year, have since moved in together, with Thorne relocating to Bristol.
Fellow Love Island contestants congratulated Thorne and Wedlake in the comments section of the announcement. Friends like Andrew Le Page, Dami Hope, and Olivia Hawkins shared their well wishes.
During her pregnancy, Thorne, 29, shared updates with her followers about her experiences. She detailed symptoms such as Braxton Hicks, lightening crotch, and backache as she approached her due date. Thorne also spoke about feeling anxious about labor despite a generally calm pregnancy.
In June, the couple revealed they were expecting a boy through an Instagram video. The clip showed Thorne's partner wearing a hat that read 'best dad,' followed by a mini blue guitar placed next to Thorne's baby bump. Thorne wrote at the time that they couldn't wait to watch their son grow and give him the happiest life possible.
Thorne had previously expressed joy in her changing body during pregnancy, sharing photos at 24 weeks where she embraced her physique. She mentioned feeling confident and empowered, stating she felt "made to be pregnant."
She also discussed experiencing lower back ache since week four of her pregnancy and undergoing regular massages. In March, Thorne first announced her pregnancy with a video shared on the beach, showing her baby bump and an ultrasound scan. The announcement indicated a September due date.
Thorne, a former paramedic, was a contestant on the eighth season of Love Island in 2022. She was coupled with Jacques O'Neill and later Adam Collard during her time on the show.
