Claire's parents reunite in the past once again on Blood of My Blood. But Henry's dalliance with Seema threatens more than their relationship on the eve of war.
Henry, portrayed by Jeremy Irvine, appears at the stones at Craigh na Dun and is captured by the Grants. Arch Bug (Terence Rae) is stopped from killing Henry by his wife, Murdina (Sorcha Groundsell), who believes Henry is touched by the Fair Folk due to the marks from electroconvulsive therapy on his head. Fearing a curse, she persuades Arch to let Uncle Mac (Simon Merrells) discipline Henry. Uncle Mac orders 20 lashes for kidnapping Julia and the baby, but Arch feigns the punishment. Henry is then ordered to go to war with the Grants, who are aligned with the British.
Meanwhile, Ellen (Harriet Slater) and Grace (Ruby Fubara) reach the Fraser camp to warn Brian (Jamie Roy) that his father, Lord Lovat (Tony Curran), has become a turncoat. Brian confronts his father, accusing him of prioritizing land and titles over honor. Simon criticizes Brian for siding with the MacKenzies and not his own family, even referring to Ellen with a derogatory term, and states Brian will not be part of his clan once his title is restored.
Ellen, Grace, Brian, and Murtagh (Rory Alexander) meet with Dougal (Sam Retford) to inform him of Simon's plan. Ellen also reveals the death of their sister, Janet. Brian advises against attacking Simon and suggests they ride south to join Mar's forces in Perth. Dougal agrees to the plan but states they will settle their differences if they both survive the war. Simon arrives in Inverness unopposed and claims it for the Crown.
Julia (Hermione Corfield) is at Leathers when a Grant courier delivers a letter announcing Henry's return. Gleeful that her husband is back in the 18th century, Julia disguises herself as a man with the help of Davina (Sara Vickers) to visit him. Seema (Lauren McQueen) overhears the news of Henry's return.
Julia successfully reunites with Henry at Bowmont, where he explains his landing in the Inverness Lunatic Asylum and his treatment with ECT. Henry has no recollection of Claire in London. Julia shares details about their six-year-old daughter, which triggers Henry's memory. He realizes that while doctors tried to erase his World War I memories, his most painful memory was not being with Claire, and that is what he lost. Bewildered by Henry forgetting their daughter and the revelation that he slept with Seema, Julia needs a moment alone.
At the MacKenzie camp, Hugh Cameron (Bryan Dick), cousin to Jocasta's husband John (Alastair Mackenzie), schemes to protect John from potential English retaliation, believing the Jacobite Rising will fail. John is depicted as attempting to force his maid Grace to have sex with him, an act Murtagh witnesses.
Ellen and Brian have a private conversation, during which she reveals her pregnancy. Brian expresses concern about being a father, given his own father's character, but Ellen reassures him. They then have an intimate moment.
Murtagh and Grace share a moment by the fire, which Murtagh escalates by placing his tartan over her. Hugh Cameron observes this interaction. The following morning, Murtagh apologizes for his boldness, but Grace is not offended and sews a white fabric flower into his sleeve.
Julia and Henry's reunion is strained. Henry confesses to sleeping with Seema, believing Julia was dead at the time. While Julia understands the mistake due to his grief, she questions why he did not inform her. She asks Henry to return to the man he was when he wrote letters from World War I. For the time being, she lets everything go and sleeps with her husband, as he is due to go to war in the morning.
Afterward, Julia mentions that the seer Maisri stated she could not travel through the stones. Henry dismisses this, believing Julia traveled before. He plans to acquire three gemstones for himself, Julia, and William, and escape during the war to return to their own time. Julia gives Henry a letter to take with him, asking for no written replies, only for him to return whole.
As Henry departs, he sees Arch bid a tender farewell to Murdina, and Henry and Arch form an uneasy alliance.
Ellen and Brian also say goodbye. Ellen makes Brian promise to return to her and their baby before she leaves for Leoch with Grace. However, Brian faces scrutiny from his father's manservant, Balloch (Chick Allan), who is spying on him.
Julia returns home to find William missing from his cradle and Davina gone. Seema, consumed by jealousy over Henry, confronts Julia. Armed with a knife, Seema declares her love for Henry and locks Julia inside with her.
The episode concludes with Brian and Julia in peril, along with baby William, indicating that war is not the sole threat to the happiness of Jamie and Claire's parents on Blood of My Blood.
