Olivia Rodrigo's 'Unraveled Tour' Debut Features Disappearing Dress Spectacle

Olivia Rodrigo launched her "The Unraveled Tour" in Hartford, Connecticut, with a captivating performance that included a dramatic "disappearing dress" effect. During her rendition of "The Cure," artificial rain began to fall on stage, causing Rodrigo's baby blue pleated mini dress to dissolve and reveal a red latex ensemble beneath.
The concert at the People's Bank Arena marked the beginning of Rodrigo's third concert tour and her first in support of her latest album, "You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love." Following the theatrical dress reveal, the singer changed into a tank top and jeans to perform hits from her previous albums, "GUTS" and "SOUR."
Rodrigo shared her excitement about the tour's opening night on social media, calling it "magic" and a "dream come true." She also credited her creative team for their contributions to the show's production.
Before embarking on "The Unraveled Tour," Rodrigo hosted her inaugural Daisy Chain Fields music festival, which successfully raised $20 million for women-focused nonprofits. Melinda French Gates pledged to match donations, bringing the total to the significant sum. Rodrigo expressed her admiration for Gates, calling her an inspiration for her work in empowering women and girls. Gates, in turn, lauded Rodrigo for creating an event that brought people together to support important causes, emphasizing the power of women uniting to "change the world."
The $20 million raised will be distributed equally among ten organizations, including Baby2Baby, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, Center for Reproductive Rights, FreeFrom, Jhpiego, Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, National Domestic Workers Alliance, National Institute for Reproductive Health, National Women’s Law Center, and Planned Parenthood.
"The Unraveled Tour" is scheduled for 86 shows across North America and Europe, concluding with a two-night engagement at London's O2 Arena on May 10.
