Olivia Colman Found Paris Fashion Week Debut 'Terrifying'

Olivia Colman described her recent runway walk for Miu Miu at Paris Fashion Week as a "terrifying" experience. The Oscar-winning actress, who has been embracing her natural grey hair and curls, took to the catwalk to present the brand's spring/summer collection.

Colman, 52, revealed on The Graham Norton Show that the invitation came unexpectedly. "They just called out of the blue and I can't believe I did it. I can't believe I said yes as it's very un-me," she explained. Despite her initial hesitation, Colman embraced the moment, stating, "52, grey hair, f**k it!" She added, "It was so nice to be asked, and my teenage self was saying, 'Do it!' It was terrifying but I loved it."

Colman was joined on the chat show by her co-star Alexander Skarsgård to discuss their new film, "Wicker." The movie, described as "vulgar, horny yet unexpectedly heartwarming," follows Colman's character, a lonely fisherwoman who commissions a basket weaver to create her a husband out of wicker. The creation, played by Skarsgård, comes to life and causes jealousy among other village women.

Skarsgård admitted he initially mistook the script for the horror film "The Wicker Man." "Turns out it was a comedy with lots of sex," he said. Colman added that the film "has everything in it – including lots you don't expect." She also noted their on-screen love scenes were vigorous but thankfully splinter-free.

Skarsgård also discussed his character's purity, which he found challenging to portray. He shared a story about his costume for the film, which was made by the same artists who worked on "Lord of the Rings" and took 18 months to create. He particularly appreciated the craftsmanship of the nipples on the suit and kept them as a souvenir.
