Olivia Colman, 52, unveiled a dramatic new hairstyle at the 22nd Zurich Film Festival on Monday, appearing with long, grey locks for the screening of her latest film, "Wicker."
The striking transformation marks a departure from her previous brunette pixie cut and is reportedly for an upcoming role in Netflix's "Pride and Prejudice."
Colman appeared alongside her "Wicker" co-star Alexander Skarsgård, smiling as she posed for photographs on the Green Carpet. She wore an elegant white dress with bow detailing.
"Wicker," described as "vulgar, horny yet unexpectedly heartwarming," centers on Colman's character, a lonely fisherwoman whose love life is hindered by a persistent fishy odor. Seeking companionship, she commissions a local basket weaver, played by Peter Dinklage, to fashion her a husband out of wicker.
The wicker creation, portrayed by Skarsgård, comes to life and becomes the object of desire for the village's women, causing social disruption. The film's trailer, released in July, garnered significant attention for its candid scenes.
Colman, an Oscar winner for her role in "The Favourite," has spoken enthusiastically about the project, calling "Wicker" one of the top three scripts she has ever read.
The ensemble cast also includes Phil Daniels, Richard E. Grant, and Elizabeth Debicki. Debicki plays the tailor's wife, a character deeply unhappy until witnessing the fisherwoman's unconventional choice. Dinklage portrays the basket weaver, an outsider who shares an affinity with the fisherwoman.
"Wicker" premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January and has received a 91 percent 'fresh' rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film's release is scheduled for October 23 in the United States and October 30 in the United Kingdom.
