Nicole Scherzinger Celebrates Pussycat Dolls Tour End With Bandmates
The singer, who battled burns, joined bandmates Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt for a night out after concluding the UK leg of their reunion tour.
Nicole Scherzinger celebrated the conclusion of the Pussycat Dolls' UK tour reunion by stepping out with bandmates Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt on Friday. The singer, 48, wore a skintight leopard print catsuit for the outing to Nammos restaurant in Mayfair.
Scherzinger had overcome significant burns from an accidental spill of boiling water on her leg to perform the final shows of the tour. Roberts opted for a sheer black gown, while Wyatt wore a black lace mini dress with heeled leather boots.
The Pussycat Dolls' reunion tour has faced numerous challenges since its September commencement. These included poor ticket sales, reported member disputes, canceled dates, and injuries sustained by the members. Alongside Scherzinger's burns, Kimberly Wyatt was recovering from hip surgery, and Ashley Roberts had experienced pre-performance anxiety.
Further complicating the tour's narrative, three founding members—Carmit Bachar, Jessica Sutta, and Melody Thornton—were not included in the reunion. The group had announced their comeback in March with their first new single in six years. However, the entire North American leg of their comeback tour was canceled due to insufficient ticket sales, leading to the elimination of 33 planned dates in the U.S. and Canada. This cancellation occurred only a month before the first scheduled show in Palm Desert, California.
The band issued a statement on Instagram acknowledging the difficult decision to cancel most North American dates, while noting the strong reception for their UK and European shows, with several already sold out. They expressed their commitment to creating a memorable celebration of their music and legacy for long-time and new fans alike.
The tour kicked off in Copenhagen in September, with subsequent shows in Paris, Warsaw, and the UK. Ticket holders were to receive automatic refunds for canceled dates, with instructions for third-party resale purchasers to contact their vendor.
Earlier in the tour, a technical issue or wardrobe malfunction reportedly halted Scherzinger's performance of the hit song "Buttons" during a show in Poland, leaving Roberts and Wyatt to perform the choreography without her vocals. This incident led to fan speculation and comments on social media regarding the stage presence and vocal contributions of the other members compared to past performances featuring Melody Thornton.
