Speculation surrounding Meghan Markle's potential casting in the upcoming third season of Netflix's "The Gentlemen" has been amplified by a cryptic remark from Netflix's scripted chief, Manda Levin.
When questioned about the rumors at the Edinburgh TV Festival on Wednesday, Levin responded, "All bets are off." This statement has further fueled reports that the Duchess of Sussex is being considered for a role in the action-comedy series, which is set and filmed in the UK.
Last week, Page Six reported that Markle is being considered for an undisclosed role in Season 3 of the Guy Ritchie-directed show. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the role is currently being written, with the extent of her potential appearance remaining unclear.
A representative for Netflix confirmed to Page Six that "The Gentlemen," which stars Theo James, has been renewed for a third season. The series premiered in March 2024, and its second season is slated for release on September 3.
The casting rumors emerge as Markle is reportedly planning a return to acting. A source told Page Six on August 21 that Markle has been considering "inquiries in the entertainment space" as she and her husband, Prince Harry, have recently relocated back to England with their two young children. However, the same source cautioned that "something is being discussed but it’s not solid."
This potential acting venture comes after Netflix ended its partnership with Markle's lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, in March. The streaming platform did not renew her two-season series, "With Love, Meghan."
Markle, widely recognized for her role as Rachel Zane in the legal drama "Suits" from 2011 to 2018, stepped back from acting in 2017 following her engagement to Prince Harry. In November 2025, Page Six reported that she is slated to make a cameo as herself in the upcoming Amazon MGM comedy "Close Personal Friends," alongside Brie Larson and Lily Collins, though a release date has not yet been announced.
Prince Harry has expressed support for Markle's acting endeavors, with a source telling The Sun that he "wants Meghan to do whatever brings her joy."
Markle and Prince Harry, along with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, arrived in the UK on Wednesday, with their children reportedly set to begin school in England next week.
