Molly-Mae Hague Addresses 'Mum Guilt' Over Overnight Business Trips
The influencer discusses balancing work commitments with caring for her young children.
Molly-Mae Hague has spoken out about experiencing 'mum guilt' when she has to leave her infant son, Midas, and daughter, Bambi, overnight for work commitments. The 27-year-old influencer acknowledged feeling bad after recent instances of being away from her family for a night, but she maintains that these trips ultimately contribute to her being a 'better mother.'
Hague, who is the founder of the brand Maebe, shared her experiences while discussing the logistical challenges of managing her business, travel, and her two young children. She recently traveled to Germany for a business meeting with Adidas, highlighting the demands of her career.
"These trips and when I'm going away, like obviously I've got a baby at home, like he's 15 weeks now... so like he's not super super baby anymore, but I really really can't really be going away for any longer than a night," Hague stated in a recent vlog. She elaborated on the difficulty of leaving, even for a single night, noting two consecutive weeks where she had to travel for one night each time.
She described seeking details about her children's day from those looking after them, saying, "I want every single detail like every single thing that came out of Bambi's mouth tell me every single thing."
However, Hague also posits that her work contributes positively to her mental well-being, enabling her to be a more effective parent. "My work puts my mental state in a place where I can be a better mum," she explained. "Like if I didn't work, if I didn't show up at work, if I didn't sometimes leave the children to go to work, I wouldn't be as good as mum as I could. I am because I go to work, if that makes sense. And I just I really value the time I get to work and to chase my dreams and to also create a better future for them and to give, you know, my family everything I want to give them."
In other news, Hague recently celebrated her mother's 60th birthday with a lavish weekend getaway at Estelle Manor. The family stayed at Bluebell House, the largest private residence on the estate, with reported nightly rates starting at £6,750 for a minimum two-night stay. Hague shared glimpses of the celebration on Instagram, which included decorations and a celebratory brunch.
Hague is raising her children, Bambi, three, and Midas, four months, with her partner, Tommy Fury. She recently flew to Germany via private jet for a nine-hour meeting with Adidas.
