Miranda Hart Eliminated on "Celebrity Traitors"
The comedian became the latest Faithful to be murdered by the Traitors, citing fears she was getting too close to the truth.
Miranda Hart was eliminated from "The Celebrity Traitors" during a dramatic episode that aired Friday, becoming the latest Faithful to be murdered by the show's Traitors. Traitors Maya Jama, James Acaster, and King Kenny targeted Hart, reportedly fearing she was uncovering too much about their identities.
Hart, 53, expressed frustration with her own gameplay upon reading her murder letter, stating, "I knew it. I'm so cross with myself." She reflected on the personal significance of her return to professional and personal pursuits, including spending time in the Scottish Highlands, suggesting she had overcome health challenges that made her question if such activities would be possible again.
Concerns were raised about a potential editing blunder by the BBC, which may have inadvertently revealed Hart's fate at the end of the preceding Thursday episode. As the Traitors deliberated their next target, narrowing it down to Hart, Romesh Ranganathan, and Sebastian ‘Bash’ Croft, viewers noticed King Kenny appearing to write Hart's name on a scroll before the camera cut away. This led to criticism from viewers regarding the show's production.
During the episode, contestants participated in a "field of screams" challenge, where they worked in pairs to collect gold and add it to the prize fund, or risk being eliminated from a secret power opportunity. Ultimately, the group chose to protect Jama, Acaster, and Kenny, whom they trusted most. Kenny was awarded a dagger with a double vote, and the group added £13,500 to the charity prize fund, bringing the total to £59,500.
Hart's elimination follows that of Ross Kemp, who was murdered in plain sight in the previous episode. Kemp had expressed paranoia about Bella Ramsey and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, only to become a victim of the Traitors' "deadly sleeping powder." James Acaster's role in Kemp's murder was noted, with fans speculating whether Jama and King Kenny might turn on Acaster due to his perceived lack of support during a subsequent mission.
In that mission, the Traitors were responsible for collecting gold and sabotaging the Faithfuls' shields. While Jama and King Kenny removed their blindfolds to complete the task, James remained hidden, citing fear. Later, Jama and King Kenny confronted James about his inaction. He admitted to enjoying the act of murder, particularly Kemp's, and stated he had enjoyed the current day more, which seemingly eased tensions.
Despite this, fans continue to speculate about potential future betrayals, with many believing Maya Jama and King Kenny might eliminate James due to his inconsistent performance and perceived reluctance to fully commit to the Traitor role.
