Miley Cyrus Claims Dolly Parton Sent a Sign After Performance Tribute

Miley Cyrus has shared a story about feeling a spiritual connection with her late godmother, Dolly Parton, during a recent concert. Cyrus told the audience at her Hollywood Bowl show that she believes Parton communicated with her from beyond the grave.

During her performance, Cyrus described an emotional experience where she sought a sign from Parton. She recounted taking out her phone to play Parton's hit song "Jolene" on video, holding it up to a mannequin fashioned after the singer. Cyrus said she lit a candle, placed a flower down, and asked Parton to flicker the lights if she was present. According to Cyrus, "the entire hallway started flickering," an event she said her fiance, Maxx Morando, also witnessed.

"So, I know she’s here with me tonight," Cyrus stated, adding that Parton's presence gave her the strength to continue performing through her emotions. "I'm feeling some of the feelings that I’m most afraid of, and having her here with me is getting me through."

The performance at the Hollywood Bowl was in support of Cyrus's 10th studio album, "Bass Persuades." Earlier in the week, Cyrus also broke down in tears while delivering a tribute to Parton during the first night of her concert series. She sang "Jolene" and told the audience about seeing her godmother perform at the same venue years ago, an experience that inspired her to hold shows there.

Cyrus explained that she felt Parton's presence on stage, saying, "Sitting here with you all right now, feeling her all around me, knowing that she's right here beside me, every day, more than she could be when she was here. I feel her more now than ever."

Parton passed away at the age of 80 on August 25, following a brief battle with cancer. Her death was confirmed by her representatives after she had been admitted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville with autoimmune and kidney problems.
