The secluded Canadian lodge once owned by actors Michelle Pfeiffer and David E. Kelley is now open to the public for rentals. Located in the Great Bear Rainforest of British Columbia, the property, known as Fawn Bluff, served as a decade-long hideaway for the Hollywood couple before being purchased by a French entrepreneur three years ago.
The new owner has invested millions in converting the 340-acre estate into an adventure lodge, with the aim of supporting the local Indigenous community. Proceeds from rentals are directed towards initiatives such as an addiction center, addressing substance abuse issues prevalent in rural areas.
Fawn Bluff, an hour's seaplane ride from Vancouver, offers a six-bedroom lodge and is described by the owner as a place of natural immersion. The entrepreneur, who made his fortune in the car rental business, was drawn to the area for its abundant wildlife and plans to offer unique experiences, including guided scuba dives with oceanographer Maxwell Hohn. Guests may have the opportunity to observe salmon runs from within the river during the fall season.
Recent upgrades to the lakeside facilities include a sauna and hot tub. The lodge also partners with the Homalco First Nation, which has long inhabited the land. The operation aims to bolster the community through shared resources and collaborative efforts, such as culinary exchanges and foraging trips.
The lodge's inaugural rental season runs from June 1 to October 15, 2026. Nightly rates for up to 12 adults and four children start at approximately $18,000, with a minimum four-night stay required. The owner envisions Fawn Bluff as a generational commitment, with plans to expand the regenerative tourism model to other remote areas.
Pfeiffer and Kelley have reportedly not visited the property since its sale, though the current owner expressed optimism they might return.
