Mia Goth Files for Divorce From Shia LaBeouf
The actress cited irreconcilable differences in her filing, nearly a decade after the couple first married.
Mia Goth has filed for divorce from Shia LaBeouf, initiating proceedings nearly 10 years after the actors initially married. The petition was filed Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, with Goth, 32, and LaBeouf, 40, reportedly separated since July 2025.
The couple, who met while filming “Nymphomaniac: Vol. II” in 2012, were married in 2016. They announced a divorce in 2018 but remained legally married. The pair reunited in 2020 and welcomed a daughter in 2022.
In her filing, Goth is seeking primary legal and physical custody of their 4-year-old child, requesting visitation rights for LaBeouf. She has also asked the court to deny spousal support for either party. The marriage was the first for both actors. Irreconcilable differences were cited as the reason for the split, a common ground in U.S. divorce proceedings.
Goth, born in London, recently appeared as Melantho in “The Odyssey” and had a dual role in “Frankenstein.” She is also known for her roles in the horror trilogy “X,” “Pearl,” and “MaXXXine.” LaBeouf, a former child star, is recognized for his roles in Disney Channel's “Even Stevens,” the 2003 film “Holes,” “Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull,” and the first three “Transformers” films.
The divorce filing comes shortly after LaBeouf settled a lawsuit for the second time with singer FKA twigs, whom he dated during a period when he and Goth were separated. FKA twigs, whose legal name is Tahliah Barnett, had alleged emotional and physical abuse in a 2020 lawsuit. While the initial lawsuit was settled and dismissed last year, she filed a second suit in March, asserting that non-disclosure provisions in the settlement violated California law. On Monday, she moved to dismiss this second lawsuit, stating LaBeouf had agreed to void those provisions.
In June, LaBeouf was sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to punching three individuals outside a New Orleans bar during Mardi Gras.
