Melanie Walters Eliminated From Strictly Come Dancing
The "Gavin and Stacey" actress and her professional partner Aljaz Skorjanec were voted off after facing Shaun Wright-Phillips and Alexis Warr in the dance-off.
Melanie Walters, known for her role as Gwen West in the BBC comedy "Gavin and Stacey," has been eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing. She and her professional partner, Aljaz Skorjanec, were sent home after the judges opted to save former footballer Shaun Wright-Phillips and his partner Alexis Warr in the Sunday night results show.
Walters and Skorjanec found themselves in the dance-off against Wright-Phillips and Warr, who had performed a quickstep to "I'm A Believer" by The Monkees, scoring 15 points. Following both couples' повторные performances, the judges delivered their verdicts. While one judge wished to save Walters, the other three chose to support Wright-Phillips and Warr.
Walters, a Welsh actress, joined the reality competition for its current season. She is best recognized for her portrayal of Gwen West in "Gavin and Stacey," a role she has held since the show's inception in 2007 and reprised for a Christmas special in 2024. In the early weeks of the competition, Walters received a score of 15 for her cha-cha-cha and again for her waltz during Movie Week. She was partnered with professional dancer Aljaz Skorjanec.
The eliminated couple is scheduled to appear on the show "It Takes Two" on Monday. The episode also featured a group performance by professional dancers, divided into ballroom and Latin teams, and a musical performance by Jalen Ngonda of his song "Burning Temptation" alongside professional dancers Neil Jones and Lethabo Monametsi.
With Walters' departure, the remaining 13 couples will continue to compete in the upcoming week, which is themed as "Icons Week."
