Melanie Griffith, the 68-year-old Oscar-nominated actress, was photographed in Beverly Hills this week as she prepares to travel to Spain to attend the wedding of her daughter, Stella Banderas.

Griffith, the daughter of actress Tippi Hedren, was seen heading back to her car in a Beverly Hills parking garage on Wednesday after running errands. She and her former husband, actor Antonio Banderas, are expected to reunite in Málaga next month for the couple’s daughter’s "intimate" ceremony to Alex Gruszynski.

Banderas, 65, told Hola! on Aug. 12 that he was proud Stella chose Spain for the wedding, saying, "Having her get married in Spain fills me with pride. She's very Andalusian, very much from Málaga, even if she grew up in the US. This is her way of reconnecting with her roots and sharing her homeland with her future husband and his family." He added that seeing his daughter as a bride "will be one of the most beautiful moments of my life" and described the ceremony as a "long-awaited wedding," noting that Gruszynski "has been like family since they were kids," attending Wagon Wheel preschool in Hollywood together.

Griffith and Banderas met on the set of the 1995 film Two Much and remained on amicable terms after the end of their 18-year marriage in 2014. The Manhattan-born actress and Banderas share daughter Stella. Griffith also has three other children: daughter Dakota Johnson, 35, from her marriage to Don Johnson; son Alexander Bauer, 40, from her marriage to Steven Bauer; and stepson Jesse Johnson, 42, who is Don Johnson’s son.

A Golden Globe winner and Oscar nominee, Griffith is best known for roles in Arthur Penn's Night Moves (1975), Jonathan Demme's Something Wild (1986), Mike Nichols' Working Girl (1988) and Brian De Palma's The Bonfire of the Vanities (1990). In 2023 she replaced a heart-shaped tattoo bearing the name "Antonio" with a crossword-style tattoo listing the names of her four children: Alexander, Dakota, Jesse and Stella.

Griffith is also attached to the forthcoming Amanda Kramer dramedy By Design, in which she serves as narrator. The film, starring Juliette Lewis, is scheduled to screen Sept. 21 at the Nashville Film Festival. Music Box Films recently acquired North American distribution rights, and the film holds a 71% critic approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 35 reviews.

Representatives for Griffith and Banderas did not immediately respond to requests for additional comment. The wedding plans reflect a private family celebration in Málaga, where Banderas has frequently spoken of his Andalusian roots and the importance of family ties.
