Meghan Markle Appears to Tease New Dog Toy Amid Lifestyle Brand Expansion
A video featuring the Duchess of Sussex's dog playing with a jam-shaped plushie has fueled speculation about her next venture into the pet product market.
Meghan Markle may be on the verge of launching a new product for her lifestyle brand, As Ever. A recent online video showcasing the Duchess of Sussex's Labrador, Pula, playing with a plush toy resembling a jar of raspberry jam has sparked speculation about her next business endeavor.
This development comes as Markle has previously expressed interest in the pet accessories market. Her lifestyle brand, initially named American Riviera Orchard, had a trademark application that, though rejected, listed 115 intended products for household pets, including leashes, collars, and beds.
In 2024, Markle soft-launched the brand by sending PR gifts to friends. These included a jar of dog biscuits for the Italian Greyhound of professional polo player Nacho Figueras. Additionally, Markle shared a recipe for homemade peanut butter dog treats on her Netflix show, "With Love, Meghan."
The Duchess recently garnered attention for showcasing new jewelry valued at $100,000, including a bracelet named after Princess Diana, in promotional photos for her limited-edition advent calendar. This calendar, a collaboration between As Ever and Compartés, features 24 handcrafted chocolates with various flavors and is priced at $148 (£112).
The advent calendar's design is inspired by Markle's Montecito home and garden, and she worked on its development with Compartés creative director Jonathan Grahm. The product is available for pre-order in the U.S. on the As Ever website, with deliveries expected to begin in early December.
Markle is also reportedly an investor in the AI-powered fashion business OneOff, through which she earns a commission on sales of clothing and jewelry featured on her page. This venture has seen promotional efforts for items worn by Markle in various public appearances.
