Megan Moroney's Wings Cause Stir at Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show experienced an unexpected runway hazard when singer Megan Moroney's large, fluffy pink wings nearly struck several models during her performance. The incident occurred as Moroney, 29, performed for the audience while models, known as Angels, walked the catwalk.

Viewers on social media platform X commented on the distraction, with one user writing, "megan moroney don't care how many of the models she hits or covers with her wings don't ever bring her back actually." Another commenter noted, "'[Megan] kept getting in their way,'". A third post stated, "people saying that katseye had the worst performance when megan moroney is right there blocking the models with her big ass wings."

Moroney's wingspan was a point of contention for multiple onlookers, with one questioning, "who in the right mind decided to give megan moroney WINGS." The country songstress was one of several musical artists, including Megan Thee Stallion, Katseye, and Tate McRae, who performed at the event.

The fashion show marked its third year back after a six-year hiatus that had previously cast doubt on the brand's future. However, the event has also been met with controversy regarding model selection.

Earlier this month, fans expressed their intent to boycott the show after several prominent models claimed they were rejected from walking the runway. Romee Strijd, 31, detailed her experience of attending a casting call and subsequently receiving a rejection, stating she was told she "wouldn't fit in the show this year." Strijd, who had previously walked in the show from 2014 to 2018, expressed her disappointment with the process and how she felt treated, indicating she would likely not audition again.

Frida Aasen, 31, who walked in 2017 and 2018, also commented on Strijd's video, sharing that she too had been turned down after attending a casting. Social media users reacted to the news of their absences, with many defending the models and criticizing the show's decisions.

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, which began in 1995, returned in 2024 after a six-year break. The 2024 runway included a more diverse range of models, such as plus-size model Ashley Graham and transgender models, a shift from its previous iterations. The brand had previously faced criticism for its lack of diversity, leading to the show's cancellation in 2019. In 2025, the brand's new CEO announced plans to return to its "unapologetically sexy" branding, moving away from what was perceived as a "woke rebrand" in an effort to revive sales and recapture its former image.
