Maya Jama Skips "Celebrity Traitors" Aftershow for Halloween Party Prep
The show's host was reportedly filming and unable to attend the "Uncloaked" special, but is believed to be finalizing plans for her annual celebrity Halloween bash.
Maya Jama, a participant in "Celebrity Traitors," did not attend the show's post-finale special, "Uncloaked," leaving viewers and castmates to wonder about her absence. Ed Gamble, the host of "Uncloaked," informed the audience that Jama was "away filming" and sent her apologies. While Jama is indeed filming the second series of "The Gentlemen," her absence may also be linked to her highly anticipated annual Halloween party, which is scheduled for the same evening.
Jama was chosen as a traitor by host Claudia Winkleman in the first episode of "Celebrity Traitors." She progressed through the competition, reaching the final alongside fellow traitors, including James Acaster and King Kenny, and faithfuls Romesh Ranganathan and Sebastian Croft. The season finale saw Ranganathan and Croft crowned the winners, splitting the £83,000 prize for their chosen charities.
Acaster, who had revealed his traitor status earlier, was also absent from the "Uncloaked" recording. His departure from the show followed an off-screen panic attack that led to a pause in filming. Both Jama and Acaster's absences from the post-show reunion were noted by viewers.
Jama's annual Halloween party is a well-known event in celebrity circles, attracting a host of prominent figures. Past parties have seen Jama adopt elaborate costumes, with notable ensembles including Beetlejuice, a pirate, and Storm from X-Men. This year's event is expected to draw many of her "Celebrity Traitors" co-stars, though some, like Joanne McNally, are unable to attend due to prior commitments.
Jama has shared past Halloween party highlights on social media, further fueling anticipation for the current year's event. The "Love Island" host has a history of partnering with major brands for her parties, underscoring their significance in her annual calendar. Despite the absence from the "Uncloaked" special, her focus appears to be on the upcoming Halloween festivities. Representatives for Jama have been contacted for comment.
