Maya Jama Misses "Celebrity Traitors" Aftershow, Fuels Halloween Party Rumors
The "Love Island" host was reportedly filming elsewhere but is rumored to be preparing for her annual star-studded Halloween bash.
Maya Jama, a contestant on "Celebrity Traitors," was notably absent from the show's after-show recording, "Celebrity Traitors Uncloaked." While viewers were told she was "away filming" and sent her apologies, speculation suggests she may have been busy with preparations for her upcoming annual Halloween party, known for attracting "showbiz royalty."
Jama, who was selected as a traitor by host Claudia Winkleman in the first episode, had a successful run on the show, reaching the final. However, she did not attend the post-finale reunion where the cast reunited with Winkleman. "Uncloaked" host Ed Gamble informed the audience of Jama's absence, stating she was filming.
Following the "Celebrity Traitors" finale, which saw faithfuls Romesh Ranganathan and Sebastian Croft crowned winners and splitting the £83,000 prize, the cast gathered for "Uncloaked." During the segment, Gamble explained Jama's absence. Ranganathan and Croft each won £41,500 for their chosen charities, The Refugee Council and Choose Love, respectively. Croft was visibly emotional about their victory, calling it "the best day of my life."
Jama's absence from the after-show comes just before her own highly anticipated Halloween party, an event she hosts annually and for which she is known to create elaborate costumes. Past attendees have included notable figures from British entertainment. This year's "Celebrity Traitors" cast members are expected to be among the guests, with some, like King Kenny and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, reportedly attending. However, some, such as comedian Joanne McNally, are unable to make it due to prior commitments, including McNally's current tour in the US.
Maya Jama has shared past Halloween celebrations on her social media, including costumes inspired by Beetlejuice and X-Men's Storm. Previous parties have featured collaborations with brands like Nando's and Gordon's Gin. The "Celebrity Traitors" finale also saw the departure of fellow traitor James Acaster, who had reportedly experienced an off-screen panic attack that caused filming to pause. Acaster was also not present at the "Uncloaked" recording.
