Matty Healy, frontman for the band The 1975 and former romantic interest of Taylor Swift, married model Gabbriette Bechtel in a ceremony held Saturday evening at Castillo Del Lago, a 1920s estate once owned by Madonna.

The nuptials took place beneath the iconic Hollywood sign as the sun set. Bechtel, 28, wore a traditional white wedding gown with a sweetheart neckline, ruffled long sleeves, and a trailing veil. Healy donned a black suit and bow tie. The couple exchanged vows in front of close friends and family.

Guests included model Emily Ratajkowski, model Alex Consani, and British singer Charli XCX, who is married to The 1975's drummer, George Daniel. One attendee described the wedding as "all very brat," a reference to Charli XCX's Grammy-award-winning album inspired by the bride. Bechtel, who previously fronted the punk band Nasty Cherry, is known for her edgy style.

Healy's parents were also in attendance. His mother, former Coronation Street actress Denise Welch, was joined by her friend, actress Sally Dynevor, who has starred in the soap for 40 years. Healy's father, actor Tim Healy, was also present.

Following the ceremony, members of The 1975 performed for the guests. One guest remarked that the wedding possessed "all of the Hollywood glamour without being ostentatious or cringe. It was classic old showbiz, it was beautiful."

Reports suggest that Swift, who dated Healy for two months in 2023, might have preferred a ceremony with "old Hollywood glamour." This is contrasted with Swift's July 3 wedding to Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden in New York, which some sources described as feeling less personal.

Denise Welch reportedly expressed a preference for Bechtel over Swift as her daughter-in-law, with friends suggesting that Swift's "insane fanbase" contributed to her son's previous breakup with the pop star. A friend of Welch's stated, "Taylor's world was all just too mad and unstable for Denise and she hated what it did to Matty."

Healy and Bechtel became engaged in June 2024. Welch had confirmed the engagement to Loose Women, mentioning Healy had a black diamond ring custom-made for Bechtel.
