The television personality died on September 23 after a battle with cancer.
Mark Mortimer, an actor best known for his role as Nick Hudson on the soap opera "Another World," has died at the age of 59. His family confirmed his passing on September 23, following a "fearless journey with cancer." Mortimer portrayed the character of Hudson on "Another World" from 1996 to 1999. His other acting credits include an appearance on "Spin City" in 1999 and a role in the 2005 film "The Nowhere Man."
After his acting career, Mortimer transitioned to the construction industry, co-founding Inside Out Construction with his wife, Christie, and a business partner. His obituary described him as an "Army veteran, a model, an actor, an entrepreneur and a builder."
Mortimer and his wife, who were married for 25 years, welcomed their daughter, Hunter, after an 11-year wait to become parents. His family highlighted his dedication to fatherhood, noting that he prioritized his daughter's needs, scheduling his work around her.
Diagnosed with cancer in 2024, Mortimer shared his experience, noting that his initial battle with the disease was conventional, but it later spread to his lungs. During his own health struggles, he and his wife founded the Integrative Access Foundation. This organization was established to help cancer patients access integrative therapies that might otherwise be financially out of reach, aiming to provide hope to other families facing similar challenges.
His family stated that Mortimer faced his end with faith, finding peace in his belief in Jesus and the promise of Heaven. They emphasized that his courage was demonstrated not by the absence of fear, but by choosing to live, love, and hope even when the future was uncertain. His legacy is expected to continue through his daughter, wife, his business, the Integrative Access Foundation, and the example he set for others.

Mortimer joined "Another World" in 1996, becoming the third actor to play Nick Hudson. He recalled his time on the show as a valuable learning experience, appreciating the guidance he received from fellow actors.
He is survived by his wife Christie, daughter Hunter, his mother Sharlene, father Emil, six siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews.
