Margaret Qualley was photographed on the set of Paramount Pictures' "Possession" reboot in Jersey City, New Jersey, on Wednesday. This marks her first public appearance since reports surfaced of her separation from musician Jack Antonoff.
Qualley's representative confirmed the breakup to TMZ on July 10, stating that there was "no infidelity" and "no trust issues" that led to the end of the marriage. The couple was reportedly nearing their third wedding anniversary.
On set, the actress was seen listening to music to prepare for her role. She plays dual roles, Anna and Helen, in the psychological horror film, a character described as undergoing a difficult divorce. Qualley was dressed in a black long-sleeve bodysuit, a chiffon skirt, pantyhose, and loafers, with costume design by Jocelyn Pierce.

In a scene captured on set, Qualley wore a cardigan over her costume as she appeared distressed while exiting a fictional cafe. Her hair featured lengthy extensions styled into a braid. The actress's background in dance and gymnastics is noted as beneficial for the physically demanding role. She recently completed filming "The Substance," a body horror film for which she underwent a transformative, prosthetics-heavy performance.

"Possession" is directed by Parker Finn, who previously directed "Smile." The film also stars Callum Turner and Paul Dano, with Robert Pattinson serving as one of the producers.

The original "Possession," released in 1981 and set in Berlin, starred Isabelle Adjani. The cult classic has gained renewed attention following the recent death of its co-star Sam Neill.

Qualley has several other upcoming projects, including the romantic drama "Love of Your Life" and the supernatural horror film "King Snake."

Antonoff, meanwhile, is scheduled to headline his "Shadow of the City Festival" in Asbury Park, New Jersey, on August 28. He and Qualley were last seen together at the Grammy Awards in February. Reports have suggested various factors contributed to their split, with some sources alleging Antonoff was difficult to live with.

Last month, Antonoff's band noticeably stopped performing Lana Del Rey's 2023 song "Margaret," which was written about Qualley. Antonoff also attended the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce in July with his sister, Rachel, as his date.

Qualley had previously changed her Instagram handle back to her legal name, Sarah Margaret Qualley, from handles referencing Antonoff's music. She also deleted wedding photos from her Instagram account in March. Her past relationships have included co-stars from "Death Note" and "SNL," as well as Shia LaBeouf. Antonoff has reportedly been linked to Lena Dunham and Scarlett Johansson, among others.
