Madonna Dominates 2026 MTV VMAs With Seven Wins, Taylor Swift Becomes Most-Awarded Artist
Madonna led the night with the most awards, while Taylor Swift reached a career milestone at the star-studded ceremony.
The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards saw Madonna emerge as the top honoree, taking home seven Moon People trophies at the ceremony held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The pop icon, who received 13 nominations, was crowned the biggest winner of the night.
Taylor Swift also had a significant evening, securing wins for video of the year, best direction, and the newly established Artist Director Honors. These awards brought Swift's career VMA total to 32, surpassing Beyoncé and making her the most-awarded artist in the show's history.
Other notable recipients included BTS, who won song of the year and best K-pop. Sienna Spiro was recognized as best new artist, and LISA took home best pop. The legendary band Nirvana was honored with the prestigious Video Vanguard Award.
