Lizzy McAlpine Announces 2027 'The Over Country' World Tour

Lizzy McAlpine has announced her 2027 "The Over Country" World Tour, set to span from April through July. The tour will feature larger venues than her previous engagements and will include a notable stop at New York City's Madison Square Garden on June 24, 2027.

McAlpine, who released her fourth studio album "Angel" on September 18, expressed her excitement for the tour on Instagram. "I can’t WAIT to bring these songs to life on stage and to see all of your beautiful faces, it’s gonna be so awesome," she wrote. "Love you all and see you SO Soon."

The tour will feature support from artists including Post Animal, Searows, Mila Bea, Worthitpurchase, and Flyte on select dates. McAlpine's latest album, "Angel," has been described by Pitchfork as a more "homespun approach" compared to her previous work, with folk-influenced tracks and a "wandering spirit."

Prior to the album's release, McAlpine held a phone-free performance at Brooklyn's Music Hall of Williamsburg, playing the 14-track "Angel" in its entirety, followed by her hit song "Spring Into Summer." Fans at the event described the experience as emotional, with one noting on TikTok that they "couldn’t stop for the rest of the show."

Tickets for "The Over Country" tour will go on sale to the general public on Friday, October 2, at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster. Secondary market sites like Vivid Seats are offering tickets for purchase now.

McAlpine's setlist for the "Older Tour" in Dublin included songs such as "The Elevator," "Come Down Soon," "Movie Star," "All Falls Down," "Staying," "I Guess," "doomsday," "Drunk, Running," "Broken Glass," a Joni Mitchell cover of "Big Yellow Taxi," "Older," "Better Than This," "March / chemtrails / Headstones and Land Mines," "Soccer Practice," "Spring Into Summer," "Vortex," "firearm," "Pushing It Down and Praying," and "ceilings."

"Angel," released on September 18, has been praised for its ethereal 90s indie folk sound, drawing comparisons to artists like Suzanne Vega, Tori Amos, and Ani DiFranco. Standout tracks noted include "The light in the painting," "Anybody’s fool," "A car wash and a new pair of pants," "Soldier of the road" (featuring Fleet Foxes), "Peach," and "I have a friend."
