Lily James turned heads in New York City on Thursday night, stepping out in a daring, sheer black dress that showcased her lingerie. The 37-year-old actress was seen in Union Square wearing a long-sleeved, floor-length gown over a triangle bralette and high-waisted undergarments. She paired the outfit with sheer knee-high stockings and black patent stilettos, completing the look with loose brunette hair, a coordinated handbag, and silver earrings.
This public appearance comes after James spoke about experiencing burnout and feeling a loss of joy in her acting career. She revealed to Flaunt magazine that she took an eight-month solo trip to Cambodia to "recharge" and find new inspiration. "I've worked pretty consistently since I was 21, and I was beginning to just feel so even beyond burned out. I was scared I was losing the joy and losing that kind of fire," she shared.
During her time in Cambodia, James dedicated five weeks to volunteer work with NGOs Heartprint, Safe Haven, and UNICEF. She supported initiatives focused on building homes, providing education and clean water, and establishing safe community hubs for children. James documented her experience with Heartprint on Instagram, highlighting the organization's work and the profound impact it had on her.
James described her return to work as a "moment of shape-shifting" and feeling "a little uncomfortable." However, she added that the experience has reignited her love for acting, storytelling, and character development. "I've also found love again. It's reminded me how much I love acting and finding a character, storytelling, and that stuff. So it's a relief," she stated.
The actress is slated to appear in the upcoming Amazon Studios horror thriller "Seasons," directed by Drew Hancock. Additionally, she has three other projects scheduled for release: the action thriller "Cliffhanger," the mystery drama "Harmonia," and the animated comedy "The Angry Birds Movie 3."
