Lily James and Bella Ramsey Dazzle at 'The Liberation' Premiere
The stars graced the red carpet at the BFI London Film Festival for the premiere of their new film.
Lily James and Bella Ramsey attended the gala screening of their new film "The Liberation" at the BFI London Film Festival on Saturday night. James, 37, appeared in a strapless white gown, while Ramsey, 23, made their first public appearance since being eliminated from "Celebrity Traitors" on Friday.
Ramsey's departure from "Celebrity Traitors" followed host Maya Jama labeling the actor their "biggest threat." Ramsey later stated they understood why they were targeted on the show.
In "The Liberation," James portrays Ricki, a spiritual guru and cult leader in a 1980s drama. The film centers on Rita Cooper (Carrie Coon), a Holocaust survivor seeking to heal from past trauma by joining Ricki's remote commune. Ramsey and Odessa Young play Rita's daughters, who attempt to find and rescue their mother.
The 70th BFI London Film Festival, organized by the BFI, runs until Sunday, October 18, featuring 251 films from 88 countries, along with premieres and talks.
James's appearance comes after she shared that she had taken a break from acting to embark on an "eight-month-long adventure in Cambodia" to recover from burnout. "I was beginning to just feel so even beyond burned out. I was scared I was losing the joy and losing that kind of fire," James told Flaunt magazine. She added that she felt a need to recharge and find new inspiration after working consistently since age 21, starring in films like "Cinderella," "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again," and "Baby Driver."
