Liam Gallagher Hints at New Oasis Album in Social Media Exchange

Liam Gallagher has fueled speculation among fans by appearing to confirm that Oasis is preparing to release a new album. The singer engaged with fans on X (formerly Twitter) this week, hinting at new music that could precede future band tours.

In response to a fan's comment on Tuesday that Oasis has "SEVEN great albums and those songs with LIVE FOREVER," Gallagher replied, "8 including the new 1, I mean happy birthday." This cryptic message has been interpreted by many as confirmation of an upcoming studio release.

Gallagher also previously indicated that new material would be a prerequisite for further touring. "Listen if all goes well with the tour I guess next step is to have a chat about new music. Can't see us touring again unless we have new music," he stated in response to a fan on X.

The potential for new Oasis music marks a shift from Gallagher's earlier reluctance. Not long ago, he expressed concerns about the pressure to replicate the success of the band's iconic 1990s catalog, stating that matching their previous achievements would be "too much." He had also previously suggested that a new album might lead to the band splitting up again.

Fans have long advocated for new material from the Britpop legends. Oasis, featuring brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, reunited last year for the Oasis Live '25 tour, their first performances together in over a decade. The band is scheduled for a record-breaking six nights at Knebworth next year, adding dates due to high demand. These concerts will surpass Robbie Williams' previous record of three dates at the historic venue.

Oasis' celebrated hits include "Wonderwall," "Don't Look Back In Anger," and "Champagne Supernova," songs that defined the Britpop era and resonated with a generation.
