Leigh-Anne Pinnock Finds Her Voice on 'Celebrity Traitors'

Leigh-Anne Pinnock has shared that her experience on the reality competition show 'Celebrity Traitors' has been instrumental in restoring her confidence and reclaiming her voice. The singer, who rose to fame with the girl group Little Mix, admitted that she often felt the need to "shrink herself" while part of the band.

Pinnock, 35, found fame alongside bandmates Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, and Jesy Nelson in 2011 after winning The X Factor. Despite achieving global success, Pinnock confessed that being in a group diminished her individual voice, and it took time for her to feel comfortable expressing herself offstage.

During an emotional moment on an episode of 'Celebrity Traitors,' Pinnock stated that the necessity of defending herself within the game has significantly improved her self-assurance. "Having to defend myself in this game has given me a bit of confidence to have a voice," she said. "I do tend to do this thing where I kind of shrink myself a little bit, and I don't know if that's from being in a group."

She elaborated, "When I'm on stage, I'm on stage. When I'm off stage, I'm just Leigh-Anne, and I think it does take me a little bit of time to completely come out of myself."

Pinnock launched her solo career in 2023, following the indefinite hiatus of Little Mix in 2022.

A Dramatic Twist on Celebrity Traitors

The same episode that featured Pinnock's reflections also delivered a significant plot twist that left viewers stunned. Comedian James Acaster revealed he was a Traitor before the voting process had even commenced, a move fans described as unprecedented in the show's history. Viewers took to social media platform X to express their surprise, with comments ranging from disbelief at Acaster's confession to admiration for his decision to leave on his own terms.

Acaster, alongside Maya Jama and King Kenny, had opted to eliminate actress Sharon Rooney. Meanwhile, Faithful contestant Joanne McNally was banished from the game.

Earlier in the episode, Acaster and Jama faced scrutiny from other contestants, including Michael Sheen, regarding the death of Ross Kemp. Sheen questioned Acaster about the specifics of the murder, including knowledge of a deadly perfume bottle. Acaster responded by explaining his unique position as a Traitor who wished to be a Faithful, stating, "I've had a unique experience on this that no one has had before, where I wanted to be a Faithful; that’s all I wanted to be. I couldn’t just go, ‘Guys, it’s me, vote for me.’ But that’s all I can do, really."
