Lauren Bennett, a member of the girl group G.R.L. and a vocalist on LMFAO's 2011 hit song "Party Rock Anthem," has died. She was 37.

Bennett's bandmates in G.R.L. announced her death in a statement posted to Instagram on Monday. "It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren," the statement read. "Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us." The statement continued, "Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved. Rest peacefully, sweet Lauren. You will always be in our hearts."

Born in the United Kingdom, Bennett began her music career as part of the girl group Paradiso Girls, founded by Robin Antin, the creator of The Pussycat Dolls. Paradiso Girls released their debut single, "Patron Tequila," featuring Eve and Lil' Jon, which reached No. 3 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart in 2009.

Following the disbandment of Paradiso Girls, Bennett joined G.R.L. The group's first single, "Vacation," was featured on the soundtrack for "The Smurfs 2." G.R.L. was also featured on Pitbull's 2014 song "Wild Wild Love."

G.R.L. initially disbanded in 2014 after the death of member Simone Battle. The group later reformed in 2016.

Bennett's collaboration on LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem" in 2011 marked her first No. 1 single. The cause of her death has not yet been publicly disclosed.
