Laura Carmichael attended the Michael Kors Collection show during New York Fashion Week on Thursday, days after her Downton Abbey co-star and partner Michael C. Fox confirmed they had quietly married.

The 39-year-old actress wore a one-shouldered gown featuring a fitted, pleated top with cut-out detailing and a leather belt. She completed the look with heeled boots, a small handbag and loose waves.

New York Fashion Week opened Thursday and runs through Tuesday, with designers presenting Spring/Summer 2026 collections. Carmichael was among the attendees at the Michael Kors presentation in Manhattan.

Fox, 36, confirmed the couple had married during an appearance on the NBC special Downton Abbey Celebrates The Grand Finale earlier this week. Speaking on the programme about the series' impact, he said, "I owe a lot to this show. I think so much of my life has been shaped around this show." Co-star Lesley Nicol asked, "What if someone said you're actually going to find your wife and have a child? Life-changing stuff," to which Fox replied, "I know. It's incredible." The couple have not provided further public comment about the marriage.

Carmichael and Fox met while filming the fifth series of ITV's period drama Downton Abbey and began dating in 2014. They became parents to a son, Luca, in 2021; the birth was revealed publicly in May 2022 when the couple confirmed they had become parents 14 months earlier. The pair have maintained a largely private relationship since they met on set.

The actors have repeatedly credited Downton Abbey with shaping their careers. They reunited with castmates for events surrounding the series and its films, including gatherings to mark the television show's conclusion after 15 years and a trilogy of movies.

At a recent London premiere for Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, Carmichael was photographed wearing a ring on her left hand while attending with Fox. Representatives for the couple did not immediately respond to requests for comment submitted by media outlets following Fox's televised remarks. The Daily Mail has contacted Carmichael and Fox's representatives for further comment.

Organisers said New York Fashion Week will continue to showcase international designers through Tuesday, offering a platform for seasonal collections and industry events. Carmichael's appearance at the Michael Kors show marked one of several celebrity attendances during the opening days of the schedule.
