Kylie Jenner to Make Acting Debut in Kim Kardashian-Produced Hulu Thriller
Jenner will star as a murdered bride in 'Bachelorette Weekend,' with her sister serving as executive producer.
Kylie Jenner is slated to make her first major acting role in a new Hulu thriller series titled "Bachelorette Weekend." The casting news, announced Monday, also revealed that her sister, Kim Kardashian, will executive produce the series alongside Jenner.
In the upcoming television adaptation of an as-yet-unpublished book, Jenner will portray a bride who is discovered murdered, casting suspicion on her bridesmaids. Kardashian conceived of the role for Jenner, passing the script along to her younger half-sister after receiving it as a potential producing project.
The series is created by Lauren Oliver, known for her young adult novels such as "Panic" and "Before I Fall." "Bachelorette Weekend" is based on an upcoming novel by Flora Collins. The series synopsis describes a bachelorette weekend that turns deadly when the bride is found murdered, with her closest friends becoming suspects.
Jenner's role is described as the central figure of the series, which will explore the events leading up to the murder. Previously, Jenner has appeared in acting roles playing versions of herself in projects like Charli XCX's "The Moment" and "Ocean's Eight." "Bachelorette Weekend" will mark her first time portraying a fictional character.
Kardashian, who has a first-look deal with 20th Television, pitched the project to Hulu, with the series reportedly set for a direct-to-series order. Jenner's recent acting experience includes a cameo in Charli XCX's A24 mockumentary film earlier this year. She has also attended major film industry events alongside her boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet.
Jenner is also a star and executive producer of the Hulu reality series "The Kardashians." Kardashian has also been expanding her acting and producing work, recently starring in and executive-producing the Hulu legal drama "All's Fair." Her upcoming projects include the Netflix movie "The Fifth Wheel," the Netflix young-adult drama series "Calabasas," and the new Paramount series "Team Moms: Baseball."
