Krispy Kreme has introduced a new limited-edition doughnut range in Australia, inspired by popular Japanese desserts. The "Passport to Japan" collection includes three distinct flavors: Japanese Cheesecake, Yuzu Citrus Burst, and Strawberry Shortcake.

The Japanese Cheesecake doughnut is described as a shell-shaped pastry filled with airy cream, coated in white truffle, and finished with a caramel truffle drizzle. The Yuzu Citrus Burst features a yuzu cream filling within a shell-shaped doughnut, dipped in yellow truffle and decorated with white truffle drizzle and citrus candy crunch. The Strawberry Shortcake variant is based on Krispy Kreme's Original Glazed Doughnut, dipped in strawberry truffle, coated in a shortcake cookie blend, and topped with vanilla cream.

This new offering aims to capture the essence of Japanese desserts and convenience store treats. Customers have reportedly expressed enthusiasm for the new flavors on social media, with many eager to try the entire range.

Customers will need to act quickly, as the "Passport to Japan" range is only available in Krispy Kreme stores across Australia until September 1.

Separately, Krispy Kreme also reminds customers in participating locations of its "Hot Light" promotion. When the store's signature red neon "Hot Light" is illuminated, customers can receive a free Original Glazed doughnut with a purchase. The company states this indicates that fresh, warm doughnuts are actively being produced on-site.
