Keri Russell Details Steamy Early Relationship with Matthew Rhys

Keri Russell has offered a candid glimpse into the early days of her relationship with actor Matthew Rhys, detailing their passionate connection forged while filming the FX series "The Americans." Appearing on the "Dear Chelsea" podcast, Russell described how their romance blossomed during the show's initial seasons.

"We were like falling in love and staying up all night and like having sex all the time and just like wearing disguises, like, I'm f---ing [in] crazy wigs and like wearing pearls," Russell shared with host Chelsea Handler. "When have you ever worn pearls and like, f---ing in trailers and f---ing everywhere. I mean, it was insanity. It was so fun and sneaky, and sexy, and so good."

Russell and Rhys first met briefly before their roles in "The Americans," but reconnected in 2012 to begin filming. Their relationship became public in April 2014, following rumors that surfaced in late 2013.

The couple, who share a son named Sam born in May 2016, have been together for over a decade. Russell also has two children from a previous marriage. Despite their long-standing partnership, Russell has expressed no inclination towards marriage, telling Handler that she feels married life is somewhat "antiquated." She noted that sharing a child signifies a lifelong commitment for her.

Russell is currently promoting the fourth season of her Netflix series, "The Diplomat." In the show, she plays Kate Wyler, the U.S. ambassador to the United Kingdom. Describing her character to People magazine, Russell said it is "fun to play someone so smart, so funny, so fierce," while also acknowledging that the character "does stupid s--- all the time."

Recently, Rhys did not thank Russell in his acceptance speeches at the Emmy Awards, where he was recognized for his work. However, Russell clarified that she had told him he didn't need to thank her. "I said, ‘Take me off your plate. Like, you don’t have to thank me. I know you love me,’" she revealed. "There's so many people you have to thank. I don’t care if you want to thank the dog walker. You do whatever you want to do. That’s your minute. That’s your 45 seconds. So I just said, 'Take me off your plate.' And we kind of said to each other, 'We don’t have to thank each other.'"
