Keira Knightley Stars in Racy West End Production With 'Bridgerton' Actor
Knightley and Luke Thompson engage in intimate scenes in 'The Lives of Others,' drawing comparisons to the popular Netflix series.
Keira Knightley is taking on a daring new role in the West End production of "The Lives of Others," where she shares intimate stage scenes with "Bridgerton" star Luke Thompson. The play, adapted from the 2006 German film of the same name, is set in East Berlin in 1984.
Knightley, 41, portrays Christa-Maria Sieland, a theatre actor involved with a playwright, Georg Dreyman, played by Thompson, 38. Sources have described their on-stage interactions as reminiscent of "Bridgerton," with one scene featuring the actors sharing a bed. Knightley is depicted in a nightgown while Thompson is in his underwear during this particular moment.
An insider told the Daily Mail that the play includes "lots of jokes about the couple having a lot of sex." The production's content warning indicates themes of an adult nature, including strong language, smoking, sexual coercion, and suicide.
The play opened at London's Adelphi Theatre on Thursday evening. Tickets for the production, which runs until January, are available for up to £225. "The Lives of Others" also features Paul Higgins, known for his role in "Line of Duty."
During a recent appearance on ITV's "This Morning," Knightley initially told hosts she had not worked with Thompson before. Thompson gently corrected her, reminding her they were both in the 2020 film "Misbehaviour." Knightley explained her lapse in memory by noting she was early in her pregnancy during the filming of "Misbehaviour," and "don't remember anything about that film."
Thompson has gained significant recognition for his role as Benedict Bridgerton in the Netflix series "Bridgerton." The latest season of the period drama focuses on his character's romance with Sophie Baek, played by Yerin Ha.
