Comedian Katherine Ryan has disclosed that her recent facelift cost £25,000 and indicated plans for further cosmetic procedures, including a "baby Brazilian butt lift" (BBL).
Ryan, 43, underwent the facelift last year, eight weeks after giving birth to her fourth child. She stated that the decision was made to help her feel more like herself and for the benefit of her audience. "I've just looked like a gargoyle for the last five years and it has been dissociative," Ryan said on the show 'Olivia Attwood: The Price Of Perfection.' "I didn't do it for me, I did it for the people who buy tickets to watch me on a Saturday night."
Initially, Ryan consulted with a surgeon in Manhattan, who quoted her $174,000. She ultimately chose Dr. Nick Rhodes at the Coppergate Clinic in York for the £25,000 procedure.
Looking ahead, Ryan expressed interest in having her breast implants removed and is considering a "baby BBL," which she described as a less invasive procedure focused on subtle contouring and reshaping, rather than significant volume enhancement. "I just want to look like the way I did before I had all of these pregnancies," she explained. "It would be fun to get the fat in my back a little bit into my bum, just reshaping would be nice. A baby BBL."
Ryan, who has three other children and a 16-year-old daughter, shared that she experienced minimal pain after the facelift. She reported being bruised and swollen but managed to continue with daily activities, including attending Christmas parties and taking her children on trips, shortly after the surgery. She attributed this to the numbing effect post-procedure and her use of over-the-counter pain relief like ibuprofen and paracetamol.
She also humorously remarked on the disparity in physical changes between herself and her husband, Bobby Kootstra, following their pregnancies. "It's important for my marriage that Bobby and I - we both get to enjoy the kids - I think that we should both have the same amount of physical damage," she said. "Bobby's still a hunk, and my face has gotten fat and thin, and fat and thin, and fat and thin."
Ryan has previously been open about her cosmetic procedures, including breast augmentation in her early twenties and regular Botox treatments. She had previously alluded to undergoing cosmetic work in December but had not specified the procedure at that time.
