Kate Moss Skips Tate Britain Exhibition Launch, Citing Fan Crowds

Supermodel Kate Moss caused a stir by pulling out of the launch of a 90s art and fashion exhibition at the Tate Britain at the last minute, leaving organizers scrambling. Moss, 52, was the central figure of the exhibition, titled 'The 90s: Art and Fashion,' which features numerous photographs, videos, and runway outfits from the decade.

Sources told the Daily Mail that Moss decided not to attend the Tuesday night event after hearing that guests like Donatella Versace had been mobbed by fans. Fearing a similar reception, Moss opted not to be present, leading to last-minute confusion as organizers only learned of her absence after the event had concluded.

The exhibition prominently features Moss, including a 1998 portrait by Juergen Teller titled 'Young Pink Kate,' which she once described as "the real me." This image also graces the cover of the exhibition's accompanying book.

Other highlights include videos of Moss wearing pieces from Vivienne Westwood's Anglomania collection and John Galliano's iconic angel dress. Upon entering the exhibition, visitors are greeted by a 1993 photograph of Moss in the 'naked dress' she famously wore to a London party.

Moss was recently seen at Paris Fashion Week, attending the Tom Ford Spring/Summer 2027 show and a Saint Laurent after-party. 'The 90s: Art and Fashion' runs at Tate Britain from October 8, 2026, to February 13, 2027, exploring the cultural impact of the decade through art, photography, fashion, and design from artists and designers such as Juergen Teller, David Sims, Corinne Day, Steve McQueen, Damien Hirst, Vivienne Westwood, and Alexander McQueen.
