Kate Moss Pulls Out of Tate Britain Exhibition Launch Last Minute

Supermodel Kate Moss caused significant disruption on Tuesday evening when she unexpectedly withdrew from the launch of the "90s: Art and Fashion" exhibition at Tate Britain, an event centered around her iconic career.

Moss, 52, was scheduled to attend the opening of the exhibition, which features numerous photographs, runway outfits, and videos from her time as a leading figure in 1990s fashion. However, she did not appear, leaving photographers and organizers waiting for hours. Sources told The Daily Mail that Moss decided to skip the event after hearing that other guests, such as Donatella Versace, had been swarmed by fans. Concerned about a similar reception, Moss opted not to attend.

Organizers were reportedly unaware of Moss's decision until 10 p.m., after the event had concluded. Moss herself had arrived at the exhibition earlier and stayed for about an hour, departing at 9:30 p.m.

The "90s: Art and Fashion" exhibition prominently features Moss, including Juergen Teller's 1998 portrait "Young Pink Kate," which Moss has described as "the real me." This image is also featured on the cover of the exhibition's accompanying book. The exhibition also displays Vivienne Westwood and John Galliano pieces worn by Moss, as well as a photograph of her in a 1993 "naked dress."

Moss was recently seen at Paris Fashion Week, attending the Tom Ford Spring/Summer 2027 show and a Saint Laurent after-party.

The "90s: Art and Fashion" exhibition runs from October 8, 2026, to February 13, 2027, and explores the cultural impact of the decade through art, photography, fashion, and design, with contributions from artists and designers including Juergen Teller, David Sims, Corinne Day, Steve McQueen, Damien Hirst, Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen, and John Galliano.
