Television personality Kate Lawler experienced a tumble from her chair while wearing high heels at her brother's wedding celebration earlier this week.
Lawler, 46, was reportedly a lively participant at the event. A video shared on her Instagram account shows her standing on a chair during the dinner, appearing to engage the guests. As she encouraged attendees to move lower before waving napkins, Lawler lost her balance and fell off the chair.
She subsequently posted the clip to Instagram, humorously remarking, "Off I pop." The video also included a slow-motion replay of the fall. Lawler's father assisted her back onto the chair to prevent another mishap.
"This is why I shouldn't drink alcohol," Lawler wrote in her post caption.
The following day, Lawler shared an update on her Instagram Story, describing herself as a "broken woman" and quoting a character from a television show. She detailed a "three days of drinking, partying, dancing, shouting, eating, and not sleeping" experience.
Lawler, who is also a presenter, had been celebrating the wedding of her younger brother, Rob, and his wife Tanya in Portugal. This event followed a hen do for Tanya in Mallorca the previous month, where Lawler also shared photos of her participation in festivities.
She noted that while photos from the Mallorca trip showed her enjoying herself, she was feeling the effects upon her return. A less glamorous selfie shared later indicated she was recovering.
Lawler previously mentioned that she would be attending another three-day event abroad for the wedding, expressing hope for recovery by then. She also commented on forgetting her age during the trip to Mallorca and the need to "grow up."
