Kate Cassidy Marks Second Anniversary of Liam Payne's Death

Kate Cassidy, girlfriend of the late singer Liam Payne, marked the second anniversary of his death by sharing an emotional video on Instagram. The influencer, who dated Payne for two years until his passing in October 2024, posted a clip of Payne lifting her playfully as she giggled.

"Forever grateful this was our last hour, our last video, our last moment together," Cassidy wrote alongside the video, urging viewers to "treasure every moment with the people you love." She concluded her message with "Until the next life. I'll see you again."

Payne died at the age of 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. An autopsy revealed alcohol and cocaine in his system.

A Bandmate's Tribute

On the same night Cassidy shared her tribute, One Direction bandmate Harry Styles became visibly emotional during a concert in New York. Styles tearfully introduced a new song, reportedly titled "What Is Enough," dedicated to Payne. "Two years ago today, I lost one of those friends," Styles told the audience.

Payne's funeral in Buckinghamshire on November 20, 2024, was attended by all four of his One Direction bandmates, as well as Cassidy and Payne's ex-girlfriend Cheryl, with whom he shared his nine-year-old son, Bear Grey.

Ongoing Tributes and Personal Reflections

Cassidy's latest post follows a previous tribute on what would have been Payne's 33rd birthday in August. She shared a montage of photos, writing, "Your birthday will always be your day. Loving you, remembering you, missing you always. Happy birthday Liam."

In recent months, Cassidy has also begun the process of removing tattoos that served as tributes to Payne. She shared videos of herself undergoing laser removal for the numbers "444" on her hand and "LP" on her wrist, which held significance as their "angel number." Cassidy stated that while the tattoos were done poorly, she intends to have them redone eventually.

She also recounted reading old love letters from Payne, admitting the process brought her to tears. In one letter, Payne expressed his desire to be engaged and married to Cassidy within a year, signing off with "Me and Kate to marry within a year/engaged and together forever 444."

Cassidy has spoken about how reading Payne's letters helps her navigate her grief, finding comfort in the idea that he is still supporting her from afar. "I know he's like cheering me on from up above and he's watching me navigate through my life," she said.
