Jon Gosselin, known for the TLC reality series "Jon & Kate Plus 8," has spoken out about his significant estrangement from six of his eight children. In a recent appearance on the "Legally Goff" podcast, Gosselin detailed his fractured relationships with his children, whom he shares with ex-wife Kate Gosselin.

The couple's eldest children are 26-year-old twins Mady and Cara, followed by 22-year-old sextuplets: Colin, Hanna, Aaden, Alexis, Joel, and Leah. Gosselin stated he has not seen his twins in years, to the point where he believes he wouldn't recognize them on the street. He mentioned missing significant events like their graduations and proms due to being "alienated from all that stuff." Gosselin last saw Mady and Cara when they were approximately 13 years old and expressed a lack of knowledge about their current lives, including their relationships or preferences.

Gosselin attributed this distance partly to the narrative presented by TLC, suggesting his ex-wife may have conveyed a negative portrayal of him to their children. He believes this narrative led Mady and Cara to believe he did not want to see them, a sentiment he alleges Kate Gosselin also communicated to their son, Colin.

While Gosselin maintains a relationship with Colin and Hanna, he last saw four of the sextuplets—Joel, Aaden, Alexis, and Leah—in 2018.

Meanwhile, Colin Gosselin has publicly spoken about his experiences, alleging physical and emotional abuse by his mother. In comments to The Sun in 2024, Colin described a specially constructed room in their basement where his mother allegedly confined him, at times with his hands and feet zip-tied, while observing him via cameras.

Kate Gosselin has indirectly addressed these allegations, responding to commenters on a TikTok video by stating, "I know who I am and my kids know who I truly am and to me, that’s all that matters."
