Jerry Hall's 'Bonkers' Gameplay on Celebrity Traitors Baffles Viewers and Co-Stars
The socialite's unpredictable behavior and reactions to eliminations have become a talking point of the show's third episode.
Richard E. Grant was the first to be banished from Celebrity Traitors during the third episode, but it was Jerry Hall's unusual gameplay that captivated and confused viewers and her fellow contestants. Hall's reactions to Grant's departure and the subsequent recruitment of Professor Hannah Fry by the Traitors led to bewilderment.
During a breakfast discussion where the group grappled with the unexpected recruitment, Hannah attempted to deflect suspicion. However, Hall interjected, exclaiming, "but what about Richard?!" She then questioned, "What about Richard being a traitor? Was that crazy?" This outburst left her co-stars speechless and prompted some to question her understanding of the game.
One viewer commented on X (formerly Twitter), "Jerry hall has obviously never watched a single episode of the traitors she’s so funny." Another added, "WTF I don't think Jerry kinda knows what game she's in." The show's host Maya Jama and fellow Traitor Romesh Ranganathan appeared amused by Hall's antics, with Jama noting to Michael Sheen that Hall's animation was worth observing, suggesting she might "slip up."
Further adding to the surreal atmosphere, Hall approached Jama and Ranganathan later, stage-whispering, "I think I'm being murdered now!" This comment sent the two into fits of laughter.
Fellow contestant Miranda Hart offered her perspective on Hall's unpredictable nature, telling Joanna McNally, "I say this with the greatest respect but she's hard to read because she's in Jerry World, like Richard had Richard World." Hart cautioned the group against being "hoodwinked by that."
Hall, the oldest contestant on the show, had earlier expressed her competitive spirit to the camera, recalling her childhood leg-wrestling prowess. Despite her own unconventional play, she did voice suspicions about the newly recruited Traitor, Hannah.
During the round table, James Blunt pointed out Hall's "bizarre" breakfast speech about Richard. Despite attempts by Jama and Joanne to corner her, Hall maintained her innocence, stating, "I genuinely don't know who it is and I like everyone!"
Ultimately, four votes were cast for Jerry Hall, but it was Faithful My'hala who was banished. Viewers have expressed affection for Hall, with one declaring on X, "I adore Jerry Hall shes bonkers and must be protected at all costs."
