Jennifer Lawrence has officially joined Instagram, but her presence on the platform is already marked by a humorous ultimatum. The actress, known for her candidness, made her debut post on Thursday, a self-recorded video where she declared her intention to leave the social media site immediately if any negative comments arise.

"So yeah, I'm giving it a shot and if anyone says anything negative I will quit immediately no questions asked," Lawrence stated in a deadpan delivery. "If anyone thinks something mean, I'll know. I'll know. And I'll quit."

She further emphasized this point in an Instagram Story, playfully noting that any "mean or aggressive comments can negatively affect the baby." She then revealed, "It's me. I'm the baby," implying a humorous connection to her own young children.

Lawrence, 36, shares two young sons with her husband, Cooke Maroney: Cy, who is four, and another son born in March 2025, whose name she has kept private. Her Instagram account has rapidly gained traction, amassing over 900,000 followers shortly after her first post. Her bio humorously indicates that her preferred username, @jenniferlawrence, was already taken.

Jennifer Lawrence is finally on Instagram as she made her first post on the picture and video sharing social media on Thursday

Historically, Lawrence has avoided social media. In June 2020, she created a Twitter (now X) account under the handle @JLawrence_RepUs specifically for her role as a board member for Represent.Us, aiming to advocate for social justice and political reform. She made 19 posts on the platform, with her last being about canceling student debt in November 2021.

This social media venture comes shortly after Lawrence spoke about her experiences with cosmetic procedures. She admitted to using small doses of Botox, which she refers to as "baby Botox," and expressed her desire for buccal fat removal, though she feels it would be too noticeable.

She also discussed the effects of her two pregnancies on her body, mentioning plans for a breast enhancement due to the perceived lack of "bounce back" after her second child. Lawrence also shared her current skincare routine, which includes Tretinoin cream and, surprisingly, diaper rash ointment for redness and pore reduction when increasing retinol use. She noted that while she supports others undergoing procedures like fat transfers, she remains hesitant for herself. The actress also revealed that she dislikes time-consuming beauty treatments such as hair coloring and manicures, likening the experience to visiting a "hand dentist."
