Jennifer Lawrence Discusses Childbirth's Lasting Effects, Plastic Surgery

Jennifer Lawrence recently made a candid and graphic statement about the long-term physical effects of childbirth, stating on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast that "your vagina will bounce back. Your butthole won't." The actress, who welcomed her second child last year, also confirmed that she recently underwent breast implant surgery.

During the podcast appearance, Lawrence was asked what she was unprepared for regarding childbirth. Her response, delivered with a dose of humor, was met with surprise by host Alex Cooper. Lawrence elaborated that beyond the physical changes, she felt unprepared for the maternal instincts that are often assumed to emerge.

This disclosure follows Lawrence's recent admission that she opted for plastic surgery because her body did not "bounce back" after her second pregnancy. She told The Cut that she desires to "be a sexy mom" and underwent the procedure partly in anticipation of filming a nude scene for Martin Scorsese's upcoming film "What Happens At Night." While the film spurred the decision, she indicated she likely would have pursued the surgery regardless.

Lawrence also shared her approach to other cosmetic procedures, noting that she avoids fillers because they "show on camera" and uses Botox sparingly to maintain facial expressiveness. She attributed past accusations of a nose job to natural weight loss in her face and the aging process.

Earlier this year, Lawrence expressed her concerns about her body's recovery after her second child in an interview with The New Yorker, stating, "Second one, nothing bounced back." She has also recently launched a haircare company named "Mes."
